What I Wish My Dad Knew

Time flies, and it has been 3 years since I last heard about and wrote about Kallos, a non-profit interdenominational Christian organization with a mission to empower young women (aged 12-25) globally to model inner beauty, confidence and boldly live out their God-planned design.

What a much needed and wonderful ministry in our tumultuous times today!

This Father’s Day, they are planning a parenting webinar specifically for dads of girls 10-19 years old, to help them connect better with their daughters and nurture a close relationship with them.

Through this webinar, dads can glean insights into their daughter’s emotional and spiritual needs based on Kallos’ research with 100 teen girls.

“I learnt from TikTok that our upbringing affects how we parent, so I want to know what his upbringing was like. I also wish he knew that anxiety is a real thing.”

– teen respondent to Kallos’ survey

I recently read an article which reminded me to listen intently to what was going on in my children’s souls. Many a time, we attend to their physical and social needs, even having daily family devotions so that we can grow spiritually as a family, reflecting upon and taking turns to share our thoughts on the bible passage and the questions posed in the devotional. However, how many of us really intentionally seek to notice and truly discern what might be going on in our children’s souls beneath the surface?

May this webinar also offer good counsel to point us in the right direction!

Here’s the link to sign-up for the event: https://bit.ly/whatiwishmydadknew. And here’s a promo code (lbb15) specially for LilBlueBottle blog readers! Key it in at ”Have a coupon? Click here to enter your code” at the top of the checkout page for 15% ($6) off the $40 fee, in support of Kallos’ amazing ministry to teens.

It should indeed be our constant prayer that as believers, we mindfully strengthen our daddy-daughter relationships in this dark world, so that the kingdom of God may be built up and glorified.
