Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden

We hadn’t been to Jacob Ballas in years! So when a friend suggested a school holiday play date there, we trooped down.

We went around 430 pm, so it was not too crowded.

The kids had a lot of fun at this usual treehouse, and it was shady enough.

But the real fun began when we unknowingly ‘crossed the bridge’ and found a flying fox treehouse on the other side!

They really went nutty on this one. Over and over and over again. Some thrills at the end, especially with a hard rebound.

There were interesting placards all around.

I found this particularly fascinating. The Papyrus plant is right below!

A different kind of Orchard from the one that springs to mind most easily when one thinks of Singapore.

This was the plaque for the bird sculpture above. Cool huh?

There was a kingfisher sculpture too, replete with fish in beak.

What actual wildlife did we see? Jungle fowl, of course! Here’s mother hen with her two chicks.

A distance away, the Papa Cockerel.

Caught a tree squirrel in action too.

Jump shot!

Many interesting flowers…

And vegetables!

Finally, as the sun was setting, we bade farewell to Jacob Ballas Garden. The kids had such a great time, not least because they were with so many friends!

Just a post for the memory bank.
