So whilst the whole of erstwhile-staid Singapore seems to be in the thrall of the singer-entertainer who shall not be named, and even local coffee companies lower themselves to Tay-verts, what do those who do not care for her (gasp!) do in the meantime?
We could block our ears at every mention of her, scroll up allergically when every news alert seems to be about her, or just cave and join in the craze.
We seem to be in a state of mass hysteria, but perhaps this is just amplified by social media and media in general. The usual uncle or auntie in the nearest HDB coffeeshop probably doesn’t give a dime about the concert(s), and probably have never heard a single song of hers.
So we just grin (or grit our teeth) and bear it, for as swiftly as she flew in, she’ll be gliding out before we know it.
Then hopefully sanity and sense will return.
