[Book review] Goodnight Lab – Hilarious Parody For Every Bored Parent

I have never been a fan of the picture book “Goodnight, Moon” and could not understand why it is such a cult favourite with so many kids.

But this parody of it simply rocks!

Anyone who has been in research or knows someone in research knows that the pressure to publish is REAL. As they say, publish or perish.

Liked the fact that he made it rhyme with ‘rubbish’.

Think “spectrophotometer” would have lent to a better cadence, but what do I know.

Yes, let’s teach politeness in all circumstances, even to grumpy old shouty professors.

Anyone with four kids knows what he’s talking about. So yes, definitely a book to read!

In other news, I am SO HAPPY that our libraries are open again, even though there’s a new Borrow & Go model where we get time-based neon stickers and announcements to remind you when you should start making yourself scarce.

Totally doable – just do some research on which books you’d like to borrow, check the NLB Mobile App on availability and location before you go, then zoom in like a homing pigeon once you arrive. Like so.

Our libraries, hardware and software, are just so awesome and I can never give up an opportunity to rave about them.

This was our #LibraryBookHaul. Very pleased.

Mostly middle grade fiction, one book for myself, and one token Chinese book to show that I have all but not given up.

What have you hauled back from the library lately?
