I adapted the Student’s Prayer below from a school prayer, and wrote the Parent’s Prayer. May this strengthen us in the Lord! ❤️
I personally feel that there is far too much emphasis on academic success in Singapore, which is off-balance and out-of-whack, including (and sometimes especially amongst) Christian parents. So here are my prayers to right our focus, and not make exams a more weighty event than they should be.
A Prayer for Students
Dear Lord and Heavenly Father,
Please grant me wisdom and guide me in the way I complete and answer my work today. Please give me Your peace and keep me calm so that I will be able to focus and do the best that I can. Please help to remember that all I know comes from You.
Let me, by your grace, give my best effort in doing everything as unto the Lord, so that I may always glorify you in everything I write, speak and do.
In Jesus Name,

A Prayer for Parents
Dear Lord and Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you have allowed us to steward and guide our children. Help us to be exemplary in our behaviour and emotions, and practice what we preach.
Help us not to be anxious in anything, but in everything, bring our prayers and petitions to you O Lord, with thanksgiving. Thank you for your peace, which passes all understanding, that will guard our hearts and minds in Christ.
Ultimately, they are your children, created for You. May they (and us) serve Your purposes in all our fleeting days. Make of them who You will. Whether they are successful or not in the world’s eyes, our prayer is that they always walk closely with You and seek first Your Kingdom.
Help us to be a testimony to the world in the way we sincerely think, feel and behave. In our lives Lord, be glorified, today.
