The Durian Bakery Review – glorious Mao Shan Wang in a cake

If the recent news articles about durian prices dropping by up to 30% this July got your heart racing, here’s some more heart-stopping news!

The Durian Bakery Singapore can send delicious durian cakes and pastries right to your doorstep! They are also famous for their award-winning durian crepe cake, which I hope to try one day!

They are also having a special offer sale on their Classic Cake Set, which I tried out recently!

Pleased that it was delivered punctually within the timeslot as promised, I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality metal cake knife that came alongside with it. It’s really a complete birthday cake set – a gold cake topper and 10 gold candles means you’re all set for a celebration!

Their same day delivery service also means that they can solve your last minute woes, if you forgot a loved one’s birthday! For durian cake delivery in Singapore, The Durian Bakery is certainly one of the best, with free delivery for purchases above $100.

The cake looks great, so now it’s time for the taste test!

Slice it open and there is a generous layer of Mao Shan Wang durian pulp between two soft layers of cake, yums!

More close-up shots of the rich durian within the cake which packs an oomph! My family and friends who tried it all agreed that it was delectable – Grandma even asked for seconds, which she promptly polished off!

There are a variety of sides that you can add on to your cake set – we received the white mochi, which were delightful to pop into one’s mouth to enjoy the Mao Shan Wang durian oozing out!

The mochi skin was so soft and fine, just like those freshly made in Japan! So the entire combination went really well together – in particular the pairing of the rich flavourful durian pulp juxtaposed against the thin delicate layer of rice-based mochi which ensconced it. Half a dozen might not be enough!

One of the fantastic things about The Durian Bakery is that they obtain their fresh durians sourced directly from the Tiger Hill durian plantation in Pahang, Malaysia. This certainly goes a long way in ensuring that quality consistency is maintained, and only the best quality durian goes into every cake, crepe, puff and mochi.

So if you’re a durian lover and are seeking some cakes and pastries loaded with quality Mao Shan Wang – hop on to The Durian Bakery and cart out your selection! Happy shopping and feasting! Monitor their website – who knows? There might be more offers coming your way in July with the seasonal abundance and price drops. *wink*

Note: Many thanks to The Durian Bakery for sending over this delicious cake set for a collaborative review.
