After seeing Jus’ amazing photos, I knew I simply had to make it down for this exhibition. And the little ‘huts’ looked so fun, I couldn’t go without the kids (not that I get to go many places outside office hours without the kids anyhow)…
The girls took one look at the candy coloured corridor and off they went! Irresistable.

Upon entry, there were two main sides – the washi tape on sale, and the little huts. The kids immediately got busy exploring the huts, not before B crushed a few paper balls though! After admonishing her I blew them back into shape. Phew.
This was the music room, with an olive polka dot theme and a white metronome (‘What is this, Daddy?’ ‘This is what will give you nightmares at Grade 5.’)

I liked the soothing colours of this room best. K had a good time taping and writing (she brought her own notebook and pen).

There were no kids in their age group at the time we were there, so the girls had free rein to play as long as they liked where ever they liked.

On the other side of the curtain were boxes full of MT tape for sale. The generic name of these easy-peel off tapes is ‘washi’ but the brand that started it all is ‘MT’, which stands for ‘Masking Tape’, surprise surprise.

Huge widths of washi
Rolls and rolls of washi

Uniquely Singaporean
I got busy at the craft table thanks to the dear hubs who kept an eye on the girls.

Here’s what we made! All by me except the half-washi-ed polka dot box by K.

B takes a break from dashing in and out of the ball curtain to pose for a photo.

Thought it quite lovely that even the baskets were washi-ed up! Was a fun morning!

  1. Looked like the kids had fun! 🙂 Lil J also bashed up a few of those balls and we had to blow them back too. Think they are just so irresistible to little hands, especially with all those candy colours!

  2. Oh! It’s a metronome! I was struggling to remember the name!i too have nightmares of it at grade five. Shivers. And oh that’s hat MT stands for! Did you buy any. I controlled myself and only t one roll. The lovely Peranakan one!
