Thoughts to make your heart sing

We borrowed this from the church library lately. Titled “Thoughts to make your heart sing”, it can be read like a devotional or a usual children’s book. Written by Sally Lloyd-Jones (who is of no relation to Martyn Lloyd-Jones) and beautifully illustrated by Jago, it contains meaningful thoughts, great for reading at bedtime.

Personally, I like it slightly less than the Big Picture Bible, since I felt I had to explain some lines, or embellish at some parts to give a more balanced view, but most of it is still great stuff, and can be read “as is”.

What I really loved were the illustrations. Some are simply breathtaking.

Don’t you agree?

  1. I’m not a kid but I am already fascinated by this wonderful book! 😀 I am sure children would be even more! Thank you for sharing! It’s nice to see books like this still exist.

  2. the illustrations are gorgeous! that last photo above. do you remember those beautiful Pass-It-On little cards of a prayer? Say…the Serenity Prayer? The illustrations are similar!

    1. Now that you mention it, YES! Those little 25 cents apiece cards that we used to write maudlin sentiments on the back of, and dole out to all our besties!
