Sud-Z-Buddy light-up soap (with Giveaway!)

Sometimes, my kids drag their feet when it comes to bath time. But when I mentioned a new bath soap that lights up, they were suddenly really enthusiastic about getting a shower.

Sud-Z-Buddy (meant to sound like ‘sudsy (full of froth) buddy’) is this uber cute bath soap developed by Siesta Key Technologies in Florida, USA. There are currently two versions available in Singapore – Clancy Clownfish and Ophelia Octopus.

How it works: The toy is coated with a thick layer of gentle soap, and there’s a sensor (not coated with soap) at the recessed bottom which is activated by water. Once it lights up, it glows and blinks for about 30 seconds. If it doesn’t turn off, wipe the bottom sensor dry with tissue and it’ll stop within seconds.

The girls had such fun with it! They were really tickled by this – the simplest things can bring such joy to children.

How cute is Ophelia Octopus?

The soap is fragrance-free, sulfate free and paraben-free, whilst the toy itself is lead-free, and the enclosed battery is mercury-free. A high quality product that’s suitable for sensitive skin and safe for all kids.

When the soap is all used up, they can still play with the light-up toy!

Apart from making bath time interesting, these soaps also make hand-washing fun.

Good hand hygiene can ward off many preventable illnesses. The fact that Sud-Z-Buddy flashes slow and then fast for a complete light cycle, is also a means for the kids to know how long to wash their hands for. Tell them they need to observe two complete cycles at 25-30 seconds before rinsing – what a fun way to ensure a thorough wash!

Mummytoon is offering Sud-Z-buddy soaps at a price of $7.50 now, instead of $8.90! It can also be found at Kiddy Palace and Robinsons outlets.

I think it makes for a good motivational prize for potty training and the like, or as a small surprise gift to a friend’s kid for hosting a playdate. Also makes for a good stocking stuffer!

Mummytoon also carries a very wide range of products at prices that are much lower as compared to retail shops (e.g. for Densitin and California Baby). [In fact, for this California Baby set, it’s the cheapest price I could find online (even Agape Babies sells it for $5 more).] Delivery is free for orders above $80, or at a very reasonable $5 otherwise.
