Movies have become such a rare event ever since our first kid arrived. So it was a special treat for us to catch this movie – it’s the kind that hubby enjoys and all my friends who saw it said it was worth a watch.

Movie prices have gone up SO MUCH since my student days, when I was a more frequent consumer of movies. These days, time is the more precious commodity, so we didn’t baulk too much at paying the internet price, sans credit card or other offers that could be had at the box office counter.

It was a spur of the moment decision to go when the kids were napping, after the gramps agreed to keep an eye on them.  It felt slightly surreal to be trotting out to join the hordes at the mall, instead of being clung onto by two tots on a Saturday.

So it was a good old fashioned movie date, some time just spacing out in front of the large screen, being entertained by Mister (getting a tad old) Bond and Miss Moneypenny.  Thought Dame Dench was spectacular in her swan song appearance, but then again I’m a big fan of hers. Guess they felt they needed to write her out of the show before she actually keels over – no grudges with the new M since he’s decent eye candy. My favourite Bond (looks-wise, yes call me superficial) is still Pierce Brosnan.  His momma must have named him after those eyes.
