Serious play in progress

One evening after dinner, the ever-wonderful 公公 brought the kids outdoors for some exercise. So I grabbed the free time and came up with this.

The 15 minute craft

The mint green side has their names, to proudly proclaim that this is their room. The other side is to be displayed when there is “Serious play in progress” within.

Special thanks to Nettescraps for the fabric adhesive paper – it gives a very luxe feel to the door hanger.

As for the wooden door hanger, I bought it also around 3-4 years ago, and am ashamed to say that I never got round to working on it. Guess just as well it ‘waited’ for the fabric paper, which is perfect for this!

I coated the sides with royal decoupage (impressed that it hasn’t completely gone out of use since I bought it at least 3 years ago) for a bit of shine, but mostly so that the letters have a lower chance of falling off.

Pleased!

  1. Very beautiful! I love the paper design, so exquisite! Love the text you chose too, haha. =) I only have those foam type door hangers, look so cheapo and kiddy compared to yours! Thanks for linking up!

    1. Yup, I have so much stuff and too little used! Here’s to using up more of our stash this year. 🙂
