One of our relatives was hit by dengue fever twice, and she even had to be hospitalised. After she told us about how horrible it felt each time, I shudder every time I think about how it could happen to one of our kids too.
Hence, when I heard about GoodAire’s air purifier that also helps to ward off Zika and dengue, I was really keen to try it out.
The Air Revitalizer H1 is an air purifier and mozzie repellant built into one.
Here’s what it is specifically capable of:
Defends against Zika and Dengue (Lab tests show 100% knockdown and immobilization of mosquitoes within 2-5 minutes of exposure to GoodAire’s essential oil formulations)
Purifies the air by removing haze and other common air pollutants
Acts as an aroma diffuser using DEET-free, 100% natural fragrance from plant-based ingredients
Humidifies the air
Provides ambient lighting in a choice of hues
The kids excitedly unboxed the set when it arrived.
(The green ‘hat’ is actually a mat for the glass unit, and keeps the unit from sliding, and keep water from collecting around its base.)
Proudly developed by local inventor Mr Richard Peck, the H1 uses water as a purification system. His aim was to provide clean air and a safe home environment to families, especially those with the elderly or young kids.
I appreciated the fact that this unit will also help when we encounter sporadic episodes of haze. In those times, clean air is especially important to children with allergies (eczema, asthma) and the elderly with breathing difficulties.
It’s easy to set up the H1. Just affix 3 cartridges (that slot in with a click), fill the glass base with water, plug in the cable and switch it on with one touch!
The H1 comes with 6 Lemongrass MozDefender Nanovent refills (grey), 6 Lavender Nanovent refills (purple), and 6 Pelavtus MozDefender Nanovent refills (gold). If Pelavtus sounds exotic, it’s because it is actually the name of a proprietary blend of oils created by the company, specifically to ward off mozzies.
We have used it for more than a week, and are happy to report that the air smells fresh and clean, and there have been no mozzies sighted buzzing around!
The Air Revitalizer H1 retails at S$399, and you can key in “lilbluebottle” at checkout to receive a 10% discount!
GoodAire Atomizer P1
If you are looking for something more effective and powerful than the usual mozzie patch for outdoor activities, why not try the Atomizer P1? What the P1 does is to create a mozzie-free zone around you within minutes by regularly emanating a mist of essential oils and water.
The set comes with an additional refill. Each cartridge can be used for multiple refills.
It comes with rechargeable batteries and a USB charger. Just plug it in, and a red light will indicate that it is being charged. Once it is fully charged, the light will go off.
Even though it looks simple, the P1 can be activated in 3 different spray modes.
Mode 1 : Spray 40 secs, pause 5 secs.
Mode 2: Spray 3 secs, pause 2 secs.
Mode 3: Spray 2 secs, pause 10 secs
In addition, clicking the button twice activates a white night light.
Mode 1 is suitable for outdoor trekking, whilst modes 2 and 3 are suitable for indoor use, such as in a car or office. I think the latter modes are perfect for glamping too (glam camping = a luxe camping experience that’s all the rage now).
The P1 even comes in 6 colours, so you can pick your favourite shade.
I liked how handy the P1 was, as it fits snugly into one’s palm. The set also comes with a magnetic holder, with a 3M sticker that aids in affixing it to a car or bathroom wall.
Here it is in action!
The Atomizer P1 retails at $59.90, and similarly you can get 10% off by keying in “lilbluebottle” at checkout. : )
