Children’s Day Celebrations in Church

There was a huge party in church on Sunday to celebrate children. Children – they are special in God’s sight, and Jesus specifically raises them up, whenever He mentions them.

Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them
away, because the kingdom from heaven belongs to people like these. (Matthew 19:14)

Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. (Mark 10:15)

So we pulled out the stops, to make it a fun day for the children, whilst having songs of praise to glorify our God, and imparting truth from the Word.

The children sang with gusto, and listened attentively as the story was told. We were pleased to be partnering the Chinese church in this – the increased number of children and the bilingual songs and story made for such a great service!

Soon it was party time, and there were so many games, and most could be tailored in its level of difficulty for children of all ages to play in some form or another.

Truly thankful to the dedicated, focused and creative Sunday School teacher (a FTWM – full time working mum- too!) who orchestrated it all, planning the details of 8 game stalls, coordinating with the bouncy castle / helium balloons / popcorn machine supplier, and making sure there were people to take charge of all the stations, and various parts of the programme!

Other teachers and our youths stepped up to help man the stalls and all the children present, from age 1 to 12 had so much fun – hope they also felt truly loved!

Thankful for the commitment of all who made this happen, for the sponsorships from individuals, and to our Lord who brought the children in. What a super day to give thanks and appreciate the little ones in our midst.

This reminded me of an earlier Easter event too, where these super mums / sunday school teachers came up with this!

Indeed the tomb is empty!

Jesus is alive. Hallelujah.
